Human Resource Management strategies for overcoming the barriers in cross-border acquisitions of Multinational Companies: the case of multinational subsidiaries in Poland

Abstract
The aim of the paper is to portrait some winning aswell as failing strategies in human resourcemanagement (HRM) in cross-border acquisitions inPoland. The focus is on barriers to interactions incross-border acquisitions that affect personnelmanagement. There is an assumption that effectiveovercoming of these barriers reduces tensions ininterpersonal relationships in acquisitions and thuscontributes to the winning HRM strategies. The authortries to identify the determinants of successfulapproaches to managing interactions of people withinforeign subsidiaries of multinational companies(MNCs) established via acquisitions, basing on thecases from Poland.
