Abstract
This article presents a general overview on the development of intermodal transport in Europe and highlights the problem of implementation of modern technological solutions in Poland. In the second part of the paper the author's conception of the implementation of innovative transport technology in relation Gdańsk-Medyka was presented. The model is intended to illustrate the future potential of intermodal transport in Poland.
