Food consumption depending on the size of household
(Armenian State University of Economics, 2018) Turczak, Anna; West Pomeranian Business School in Szczecin
This article presents structural parameters of linear causal-descriptive models estimated for 45 assortment groups. The computation was carried out separately for subsequent years from 2006 to 2015 and was based on data from the Central Statistical Office of Poland. The models were verified by assessing the fitting theoretical values to empirical data and checking the significance of structural parameter associated with the independent variable. As a result, food categories were determined for which linear function is a good approximation describing the stochastic relationship between the consumption per capita and the size of household as well as such food items for which the relationship is nonlinear. The first group consists of 39 out of 45 assortment items, and the second one includes only six items, namely: bread, flour, milk, potatoes, beetroots and sugar.

Differences between self-employed women and men – an example of the Polish economy
(Universidad de Celaya, 2017) Turczak, Anna; West Pomeranian Business School in Szczecin
The aim of the article is to answer the question whether the fact that a given person is a woman or a man has an impact on their being either self-employed or an employee, or helping in conducting the family economic activity. The analysis has been carried out separately for seven selected sections of the Polish economy: 1. agriculture, forestry and fishing; 2. manufacturing; 3. construction; 4. trade and repair; 5. transportation and storage; 6. education; 7. human health and social work activities. The Cramer’s V ratio has been used to examine the strength of the relationship discussed in the article. Additionally, the magnitude of the difference between the proportion of selfemployed women and the proportion of self-employed men has been assessed. The test of significance has been used to verify the adequate statistical hypothesis.

Similarities and differences of travel and tourism in Poland and Finland - a quantitative approach
(TAMKjournal, 2018-01-12) Turczak, Anna; West Pomeranian Business School in Szczecin
Travel & tourism is one of the world’s largest economic sectors. It creates jobs, drives exports, and generates prosperity across the world. As well as its direct economic impact, the industry has significant indirect and induced impacts. The purpose of the paper is to compare Poland and Finland in terms of the main indicators determining the importance of travel & tourism industry for the country’s economy. The results obtained were collated with the mean values computed for the entire European Union and the world. Data for 2016 were used for all necessary calculations. The relative size of the sector in the Polish economy and in the Finnish economy is considerably smaller than it is in the case of the mean EU country and the average country in the world.

Differences in tourism receipts between Mexico and other countries
(Universidad de Celaya, 2016) Turczak, Anna; West Pomeranian Business School in Szczecin
Over the past six decades, tourism has become one of the largest and fastest-growing economic sectors in the world. It is considered to be a key driver of socio-economic progress through the creation of jobs and enterprises, and infrastructure development. The aim of the paper is to determine the influence of particular factors on the diversity of the selected countries in terms of the value of international tourism receipts. Two factors affecting the value of those receipts have been analysed in the paper: 1) the volume of international tourist arrivals and 2) the average spending made by one tourist. Logarithmic method was used to assess the influence of the deviations of the said factors on the deviation of the value of the total annual tourism receipts. Forty six countries – including Mexico – have been examined. Data for 2012, 2013 and 2014 have been used for calculations.
