Rola ośrodka adaptacyjnego w przystosowaniu się Polaków ze Wschodu do życia w Polsce

The article looks at the people of Polish descent that have arrived in Poland from Ukraine in 2015 in the aftermath of the war in Donbass. The author discusses two semi-annual adaptation programmes involving the Poles and their family members. The experience gained from these adaptation programmes was then used in order to amend the Repatriation Act and, as a result, to improve the performance of repatriation scheme. The article is based on the research conducted among the evacuees in 2017, which consisted of in-depth interviews with the members of 19 families which settled in Poland.

Ścieżki zawodowe wysoko wykwalifikowanych migrantek z Ukrainy i Białorusi w Polsce

The purpose of this article is to present the various professional paths of highly qualified female migrants from Ukraine and Belarus, the most numerous groups of foreigners from outside the EU in Poland. The analysis is based on in-depth interviews with highly qualified female specialists, i.e. migrants who started work relevant to their education and/or specialist knowledge and did not have experience of working in typical “migrant” sectors (service industry, agriculture, care work, etc.). This article also provides an overview of the Ukrainian and Belarusian migration to Poland after the fall of the USSR.

The article provides a demographic profile of expats residing in Poland and outlines the main challanges this group is facing in the course of foreign missions in Poland. The analysis is conducted on the basis of available research and statistics. The article also contains a theoretical approach to the phenomenon of expatriation, its main functions, objectives and opportunities it provides in the development of the workplace. The financial effectiveness of this solution and possibilities of its optimization are discussed as well.

Imigranci wietnamscy w Polsce – dynamika przemian społeczności według urzędowych danych statystycznych

The paper looks at the selected issues related to the Vietnamese community in Poland. The author presents a brief history of migration from Vietnam to Poland, the current status of the research on Vietnamese minority and migration patterns of Vietnamese people. Next, she discusses characteristics of Vietnamese community in Poland on the basis of official statistical data. Particular attention is given to the size and distribution of the community, occupational careers and position in the labour market.
