Izolacja a epidemie. Oczywistość, remedium, przekleństwo?
(Komisja Krajobrazu Kulturowego PTG, 2020) Jędrusik, Maciej; The University of Warsaw, The Faculty of Geography and Regional Studies, Poland

The aim of this article is to present the results of surveys concerning Padlet tool. The authors analyze contemporary trends in education, legal regulations and re-search, which are part of the new model of education. The text contains descrip-tions of research results from 230 surveys conducted on students in relation to three categories. The first category presents the results of the evaluation of Padlet as a tool for content segregation, the second category concerns the evaluation of Padlet in terms of the function of group work, and the third category concerns the functionality and comparison of Padlet tool with other similar tools. In the current educational situation caused by the global coronavirus pandemic SARS-Cov-2 causing the disease COVID-19, evaluation and presentation of research results related to distance learning tools and methods is very necessary.

Cloud Computing and Distance Learning in Computer Science
(University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland, 2020-12-29) Brandao, Pedro Ramos; Evora University, Portugal
This work demonstrates that the use of laboratories for the development of curricular work in the area of information technology exclusively supported by cloud computing technology does not decrease the level of learning and assessment objects on the part of students. This scenario arose from the need to interrupt face-to-face classes in physical laboratories due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We gathered publicly available online data and prepared a database of epidemiology, demographics, economics, Bacille Calmette-Guérin vaccination and online search trend statistics relevant to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Moreover, we provide several suggestions on the use of this bioresource and reference other relevant datasets to promote research on COVID-19.

Thank God it’s just COVID!
(Gdański Uniwersytet Medyczny, 2020-10-12) Milliken, Alexander Donald; Royal Jubilee Hospital, Victoria BC, Canada; Department of Psychiatry, University of British Columbia, Canada
We have been lucky with the COVID-19 pandemic: it got the attention of the first world, yet (unlike other pandemics) has not threatened the very existence of humankind. COVID-19 has given us a chance to see how well we were prepared for something that was predictable.
