dc.description.abstractMiasta restytuowane i zdegradowane stanowią ważną część współczesnego systemu osadniczego Polski. Istotność ta wynika z dwóch zasadniczych faktów. Po pierwsze zbiór ten jest liczny, szczególnie w niektórych województwach Polski południowej, wschodniej czy centralnej. Po drugie w wyniku różnych procesów i zjawisk geograficznych rośnie rola tych miejscowości w lokalnych systemach i układach osadniczych jako zworników szeroko pojętego życia społeczno-ekonomicznego. Miasta zdegradowane i restytuowane, co pokazują między innymi pozostałe rozdziały książki, ujmuje również zestaw ważnych problemów rozwojowych osadnictwa. W tym kontekście celem tego rozdziału była prezentacja faktów jednostkowych dotyczących zbioru miast zdegradowanych i restytuowanych. Dane statystyczne odnoszą się zarówno do przeszłości, jak i teraźniejszości omawianych grup miejscowości. Wśród ogółu zaprezentowanych informacji na uwagę zasługują między innymi fakty dotyczące sumarycznych wskaźników miejskości. Obszerna baza źródłowa w przekonaniu Autorów stanowić może dobry punkt wyjścia w badaniach procesów urbanizacji w przeszłości, teraźniejszości i przyszłości. dc.description.abstractDegraded and restituted towns constitute an important element of the contemporary settlement system in Poland. This significance stems from two basic facts: firstly, the relatively large number of such places, and, secondly, the role of restituted towns within the formal-legal dimension of urbanization. The importance of degraded and restituted towns is also shown in the variety of topics undertaken in the individual chapters of this book. The aim of this chapter, in the context of the previous ones, is to provide a summary of statistical data related to the history and status quo of degraded and restituted towns. An important element of this chapter is a series of tables displaying indicators of current-day levels of ‘urbanity’ of degraded and restituted towns. The chapter constitutes a comprehensive data base that can be useful for future studies on the topic. For reasons of manageability, the data have been restricted to the borders of current-day Poland.en
