Skąd się bierze wzrost popularności populizmu w demokracji liberalnej? Próba analizy teoretycznej w świetle nie-Marksowskiego materializmu historycznego

Abstract

The author considers the reasons of the growth of populism in liberal democracies. Using a number of authors (including Margaret Canovan, Collin Crouch, Roger Eatwell, Matthew Goodwin and Jan Zielonka), the author shows that the rise of populism resulted from oligarchic tendencies hard-wired into the system of liberal democracy. In the last part of the paper, the author systemizes these tendencies using the conceptual apparatus of non-Marxian historical materialism.
