Rodzina w litewskiej etnopedagogice

Abstract
The present article approaches the most typical Lithuanian means and methods of folk pedagogy which are aimed at the development of respect for motherhood and positive features of child personality. It becomes obvious that today the traditional folk pedagogy has become not only the object of ethnological studies; many of its elements might also be successfully applied to family and schools‘ teaching practices, next to other endeavours and as a means to the formation of national identity. Th e importance of identity gains even more signifi cance in the rapidly globalising cultural enviroment. Th erefore, some elements of ethnical culture may be effi ciently applied to preschool establishments and schools. While being introduced to the enviroment of traditional culture, the child would unconsciously and easily assimilate moral principles and norms, positive value attitudes, the sense of beauty, creativity in works, respect to the nature and life. Today this could also be excellently combined with the most advanced educational methods. Th e result is twofold: the both pedagogical aspirations will be realised and the national self-awareness will be formed.
