Abstract
The author presents contemporary problems of refugees, emphasizing especially its social dimension and social security-related issues. The article focuses mainly on the issues of threats that are result of the ongoing humanitarian crisis and relations of the Poles to the nations which are culturally different. For this purpose, the author also presented aspects of the so-called “stereotype of refugees”. The text also refers to key social guaranties which are expected by refugees escaping of the Middle East territory in target countries, i.e. social benefits and the possibility of swift obtain a European passport.
