The text presents the Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger’s position on the topic of possibility and necessity of functioning having universalistic character of Christianity in the world of many religions and cultures. It displays Ratzinger’s which have to refute more and more common thesis that tolerance and faith are the opposite. According to cardinal contemporary religious pluralism preaching equal value of every religion, is the result of the incomprehension of the essence of the religion, which is relation between man and God, based on the truth and love. Assuming such understanding of religion Ratzinger emphasizes that based on God’s revelation Christian universalism is perfect synthesis of faith and reason. Christianity, then, may comprise the foundation of development and efficient functioning of every person and every culture.pl_PL
