Historia logiki w twórczości Izydory Dąmbskiej

Abstract

In the Lvov-Warsaw School, as it is known, great attention was paid to education in the field of logic, which resulted from the conviction that knowledge of this discipline is an indispensable condition for the scientific work in the domain of philosophy. This view was accepted by all Casimir Twardowski’s students who was the founder of the School. The aim of the article is to present the achievements of the distinguished representative of the Lvov-Warsaw School and also Twardowski’s disciple - Izydora Dąmbska in the field of the history of logic. In spite of the fact that Dąmbska did not write purely formal works, with the use of logical symbolism, the logic plays an important role in her scientific work. The author of the article presents selected Dąmbska’s works devoted to the history of Polish logic and works on the influence of Kant's mathematical ideas on the XX th century philosophy of mathematics.
