Nurt lifestylowy w telewizji: refleksja socjologiczna

Abstract
Television is a highly intriguing topic for discussion. This rapidly growing medium won the hearts of viewers in its very beginnings. What’s more, models promoted on television rapidly spread in societies, and became widely applicable standards. That was true fifty years ago, and so it is today, all around the world, including Poland, where the ‘sociological piece of furniture’ has become not only a highly desirable attribute in almost every household, but a “nationwide Polish language school” as well. The following article is a sociological reflection, drawing attention to the history of television, and its place in the current Polish society. On this ground, the author suggests a look at television through the prism of its own discourses, with particular attention given to one of them lifestyle TV.
