Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones in the Asia and Pacific Region in the Context of Global Security
Abstract
The author presents the idea of Nuclear-Wapon-Free Zones creation in the modern world. The main attention is dedicated to Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zones in the Asia and Pacific region created on 20th and 21st century breakthrough. The author particularly describes the history of conclude and main principles of the treaties initiates by states of the region which estab-lished Asian non-nuclear zones – Treaty of Rarotonga, Treaty of Bangkok and Treaty of Semipalatinsk. Attention is also payed to a non-nuclear area created by single state – Mongolia. In summary, the author presents the influence of treaties on disarmament process in the modern world.
