Abstract
The aim of this paper is to reminisce about the controversy over Margaret Mead’s ethnographical book The Coming of Age in Samoa as stirred by the publications of Derek Freeman – an anthropologist who challenged Mead’s conclusions concerning the sexual behavior of the Samoan youth.
