Abstract
This article is an attempt to provide stimulating factors and factors determining the sustainable development of the Małopolska province, related to the inflow into its territory of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the years 1989-2008. The article attempts to characterize the impact of FDI on economic aspects such as levels of employment, diversification the regional economy and diversification its economic development level.
