Abstract
The article describes legal issues concerning the right to family life of third-country nationals in recently adopted Act on Foreigners in Poland. It analyses direction of changes in the legislation, with regard to legalization of stay as well as socio-economic rights of foreign family members. Special focus was given to several issues: definition of a family, the context of article 8 of European Convention of Human Rights including the question of fair balance between the general interest and the interest of the individual, as well as problem of marriages of conveniance. Concerns about discrimination of spouses of Polish citizens were also raised.
