dc.description.abstract	The introduction of large scale reform of financial support for families with children in Poland, the so-called Family 500+ Programme, sparked off an intense debate among policymakers and researchers on the directions and objectives of family policies, as well as on the desired and undesired impacts of the programme. While the discussion focuses on the assessment of the degree of achievement of the main programme objectives (i.e. child poverty reduction and increase in the number of births) and its effect on female labour force participation, most of its indirect implications have so far been left largely unexamined. This paper highlights the importance of exploring the effects of the Family 500+ Programme on functioning of Polish households, and will hopefully serve to stimulate more research in this area.	en
