Abstract
Aim: It is reasonable to take action as early as possible in the Polish economy, with particular emphasis on agriculture and the processing of products of agricultural origin, which would allow us to prepare effectively for the possible enlargement of the EU to include Ukraine. The aim of the presented study is therefore to identify potential areas of cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian economies during the current Russian-Ukrainian war. Material and methods: In the present study, literature research was used. For this purpose, the most recent studies which appeared in world-famous scientific periodicals were used, but there were not many such materials related to the topic. Therefore, mainly scientific studies and expert opinions of Ukrainian authors, also currently working in Polish scientific institutions, were used. Results: Literature studies and the reasons taken into account: economics, mitigation of adverse climate change and the desirability of improving the quality of manufactured products of agricultural origin have shown that there is scope for cooperation between Poland and Ukraine in four areas. Conclusions: The scopes of possible cooperation include: support by Polish investors (in possible cooperation with investors from other countries) to sustain agricultural production on Ukrainian farms of individuals and to develop local processing of raw materials of agricultural origin, production in Poland of biofuels from raw materials imported from Ukraine, development in both countries of different types of agricultural production guaranteeing high quality food, and development in Poland of production of high quality animal feed from non-GM soya (not GM soya) produced in Ukraine.Cel: Celem niniejszego opracowania jest wskazanie możliwości współpracy między polską a ukraińską gospodarką, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem rolnictwa oraz przetwórstwa produktów pochodzenia rolniczego. Współpraca ta miałaby przynieść obustronne korzyści zarówno w czasie trwającej wojny rosyjsko-ukraińskiej, jak i potencjalnie w początkowym okresie powojennym. Materiał i metody: Analiza została oparta na studiach literaturowych oraz przesłankach ekonomicznych, ekologicznych i klimatycznych, które są istotne z punktu widzenia polityki Unii Europejskiej. Wyniki: Wyniki przeprowadzonych badań wskazują, że istnieje realny potencjał współpracy co najmniej w czterech obszarach. Wnioski: Obejmują one: wspieranie ukraińskiego rolnictwa poprzez zaangażowanie polskich inwestorów w podtrzymywanie produkcji rolnej w ukraińskich gospodarstwach i przedsiębiorstwach rolnych oraz rozwój lokalnego przetwórstwa surowców rolnych; produkcję biopaliw i wysokiej jakości pasz treściwych w Polsce z wykorzystaniem surowców rolnych importowanych z Ukrainy; rozwój ekologicznej produkcji rolnej gwarantujących wysoką jakość żywności.
