Elsa Morante i Konstanty A. Jeleński, czyli o literackich pożytkach z przyjaźni
Abstract
Konstanty A. Jeleński (1922-1987) was a Polish multilingual writer, essayist, translator, art and literary critic, born in Warsaw, but after World War II in exile in Italy and France, where he worked for the Congress for Cultural Freedom and for the famous Polish emigration magazine " Kultura ". A life companion of the surrealist painter, Leonor Fini, Jeleński was also a personal friend of Elsa Morante and a great admirer of her writings. He wrote some critical essays on her novels and translated into Polish her poem, Alibi. The paper focuses on their friendship and Jeleński's interpretation of Morante's oeuvre.
