Abstract
Nowadays the opinions about erosion of academic ethos can be perceived in Poland. One of the responses to this problem is intensive activity of particular academic environments in defining ethical canons admitted as formally accepted in the environment. Author of the article describes the attempts of codifying the standards of academic teachers’ work that have rather all-Polish character. In the next step he refers to the set of norms established by local academic environments. Afterwards the arguments of opponents and advocates of documents under discussion are presented. Finally, the author – who rather appreciates the value of above mentioned undertakings – states that they are particularly useful for young scientists who are on the stage of forming their academic spine.
