Abstract
The present article discusses the issues stemming from technological revolution which resulted in the transformation of contemporary culture from the verbal type into the audiovis-ual one. As a consequence of cultural changes, history ceased to be a domain of historiog-raphers only. Owing to new media communication technologies, history is present on ubiquitous monitors and screens. The wave of audiovisual revolution brought a new research trend termed visual history. The article discusses methodological problems of visual history.
