Abstract
W początkowym okresie istnienia III RP działacze mniejszości białoruskiej podjęli działania na rzecz zdobycia samodzielnej reprezentacji w polskim parlamencie. Udało się to tylko w 1991 r., gdy mandat zdobył E. Czykwin. W późniejszych elekcjach (aż do wyborów w 2015 r.) działacze białoruscy uzyskiwali mandaty startując z list lewicy. Był to jednak sojusz taktyczny, gdyż posłowie narodowości białoruskiej dbali o interesy Cerkwi i swojego narodu, zachowując dystans wobec niektórych działań w zakresie polityki zagranicznej RP (agresja NATO przeciwko Jugosławii, Afganistanowi, krytyka działań przeciwko Białorusi)In the early years of existence Third Polish Republic activists of the Belarusian minority in Poland sought to obtain independent political representation in the Polish parliament. This was achieved only in 1991 by E. Czykwin. But then such attempts ended in failure. As a result, the Belarusian community in the Sejm was represented by Belarusians, who were elected as candidates of the Democratic Left Alliance. But definitely they stand out in their Orthodox and nationalist views, as well as the distance to certain activities in the field of foreign policy (especially opposition to the aggression against Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, criticism of actions against Belarus).
