Abstract

Cywilizacja christianitas wyrosła jako uboczny efekt pracy ewangelizacyjnej Kościoła. Nie była ona równoznaczna z Kościołem, ale jej powstanie i kondycja były ściśle uzależnione od duchowej i moralnej kondycji, w której Kościół się znajdował. W wiekach rozkwitu christianitas sformułowano pojęcie edukacji obejmujące zintegrowane ze sobą wykształcenie i wychowanie, które usprawniają człowieka w mądrości i doskonalą w nim wolność. Wraz z kolejnymi falami rewolucji uderzającymi w podstawy christianitas tak pojmowana edukacja była poddawana stałym procesom delegitymizacji. Autor dostrzega szansę na wyjście z tego kryzysu poprzez powrót do edukacji klasycznej.

The civilization of Christianitas emerged as a side effect of the Church’s evangelization work. It was not synonymous with the Church but its creation and condition were strictly dependent on the spiritual and moral condition of the Church. In the centuries of the heyday of Christianitas, the concept of education was formulated, encompassing integrated education and upbringing that improves man’s wisdom and freedom. With subsequent waves of revolution hitting the foundations of Christianitas, education understood in this way was subjected to constant processes of delegitimization. The author sees a chance to overcome this crisis by returning to classical education.
