Benchmarking w ocenie efektywności kosztowej przedsiębiorstw energetycznych

Abstract
The processes of deregulation that are taking place in the power supply sector are leading to the introduction of competitive mechanisms on the electric energy market. Currently, this market is the subject of regulation by specially instituted state-owned organizations. Their task is, among others, to improve the effectiveness of activities of the power utilities by simulating the conditions of the free market competition. One of the methods used by the regułators to comparatively analyse the cost effectiveness of activities of the companies is benchmarking. The article presents results of the comparative analysis of the power utilities companies using the selected methods of benchmarking. The differences (depending on methods used) in placing the companies in the rankings have been highlighted. The analysis points out the necessity of using multi-variant approach in benchmarking rankings.
