Kondycja moralna młodzieży maturalnej Sandomierza

Abstract

Analiza materiału empirycznego uzyskanego w wyniku badań przeprowadzonych przez autorkę w Sandomierzu wykazała, że młodzież klas maturalnych to na ogół osoby deklarujące się jako wierzące, choć niezbyt gorliwe w spełnianiu praktyk religijnych. Zdecydowana większość maturzystów przyznaje jednostce prawo do autonomicznej decyzji o tym, co jest dobre, a co złe, skłaniając się ku etyce relatywistycznej. Obowiązywanie obiektywnych kryteriów moralnych kwestionuje ponad dwie trzecie badanych. Chociaż deklarowane postawy i zachowania moralne w znikomym stopniu podlegają ogólnym regułom i normom o proweniencji religijnej oraz są warunkowane sytuacyjnie, to jednak wiara ma wpływ na postawy posłuszeństwa, solidarności społecznej, miłosierdzia i szacunku dla starszych. Mimo współczesnych wpływów aksjologii postmodernistycznej, młodzież postrzega wolność jako możliwość czynienia dobra, nie uległa apologii konsumpcjonizmu i akceptuje merytokratyczne zasady sprawiedliwości społecznej.

The analysis of the empirical data obtained as a result of the author’s research in Sandomierz demonstrated that the majority of students in their final year of upper secondary school declared themselves believers, although not very diligent in their religious practice. Most of them granted an individual the right to autonomous decisions about what was good and bad, and they generally tended to favor ethical relativism. Over two third of the students questioned the validity of objective moral values. Although declared moral attitudes and behaviors are influenced by religious standards and principles to a very limited extent and are situationally conditioned, faith still has an impact on attitudes concerning obedience, social solidarity, charity and respect for elders. In spite of the contemporary influence of post-modern axiology, young people view freedom as an opportunity to do good. They have not surrendered to the apology of consumption and accept meritocratic social justice rules.
