dc.description.abstractThe study presents measures supporting the development of the information society and its infrastructure with the participation of EU Structural Funds in an underdeveloped region of Poland, that is the Lublin region. The author stresses the crucial importance of the EU funds and the related national operational programmes for the development of the information society in the programming period 2007–2013. The paper presents the most important project supporting the development of the information society infrastructure in Eastern Poland – the project Broadband Network of Eastern Poland. Opracowanie prezentuje działania wspierające rozwój społeczeństwa informacyjnego oraz jego infrastruktury przy udziale Funduszy Strukturalnych UE w słabo rozwiniętym regionie Polski jakim jest Lubelszczyzna. Autor podkreśla kluczowe znaczenie funduszy unijnych oraz związanych z nimi krajowych programów operacyjnych dla rozwoju społeczeństwa informacyjnego w okresie programowania 2007–2013. W opracowaniu przedstawiono najważniejszy z projektów wspierających rozwój infrastruktury społeczeństwa informacyjnego Polski Wschodniej –Projekt Sieć Szerokopasmowa Polski Wschodniej.en
