Abstract
Academic libraries play a key role as partner participating in the education process. They adopt the responsibility for creating information competences. The Information Literacy Committee (Polish Librarians Association) carried out a study to define the quality of the workshops and courses in academic libraries. The main interest concentrated on continuing education that is offered in the libraries. The authors takes up an interest to describe the educational activity in the academic libraries of public and private universities.
