Powrót do ogrodu: nauczanie kultury klasycznej w polskiej szkole

Abstract

Autor opisuje trzy sceny pozwalające Czytelnikowi lepiej dostrzec rolę spotkań z wielkimi postaciami, które stoją za kulturą klasyczną. Pierwsza z nich jest wizją ogrodu w dramatycznym momencie jego niszczenia, druga zaś – prowadzi do ciemnego i złowrogiego lasu, który paradoksalnie staje się miejscem ocalenia. Ostatnia scena ma skłonić nas do zadania sobie pytania, czy nadal jesteśmy uczestnikami tej samej kultury, którą ujrzeliśmy w dwóch pierwszych scenach.

The author describes three scenes that allow the reader to better see the role of meetings with great figures which stand behind classical culture. The first one is a vision of a garden at a dramatic moment of its destruction, while the second one leads to a dark and sinister forest which paradoxically becomes a place of salvation. The last scene is meant to make us ask ourselves whether we are still participants in the same culture that we saw in the first two scenes.
