Cultural globalization is a process that can be conceptualized differently. The perspective proposed by the author is based on an analysis of the functioning of cultural industry and understands it as a profit-oriented production of pop-culture spreading from the United States to the poorer countries. With this comes the assumption that USA has achieved a hegemonic position in terms of the production of global culture. A majority of “global” scientific texts also comes from the US since they are produced within corporations which possess American financial capital, this being the source of various industrial practices and quality standards.en
